Abstract

Apparatus fitted to yarn and thread damping devices.-In apparatus for conditioning or damping @ and threads, of the kind provided with means for indicating the increase in weight due to absorption of moisture, the container c for the yarns &c. is placed upon a perforated or apertured false bottom b, which is maintained in normal position by springs e or counterweights. As shown in Fig. 2, the bottom b is pivoted at d, and, as the other end of this bottom falls, due to the increase in weight of the varn, the indicator g is actuated. In the arrangenent shown in Figs. 3 and 4, one end of the perforated bottom b rests upon curved levers h, j, the pivot h<1> carrying a counterweight h<3> and the pivot j<1> actuating the indicator g<1>. An audible indicator may be provided by causing the pointer g<1> to complete an electric circuit and ring a bell.
