Abstract
342,128. Warping; stopmotions. REINERS, W., (trading as SCHLAFHORST & Co.), Gladbach, Munich, Germany. Jan. 25, 1930, No. 2690. Convention date, Feb. 9, 1929. [Class 142 (iv).] In warping apparatus having a stopmotion device operated by the movement of pivoted thread-guides when a thread breaks or fails, the thread-guides are arranged in banks, one above the other, and the electric contacts operated by the guides in each bank are enclosed in a single switchbox or in separate switchhoxes placed side by side. In one construction, the contacts in the form of bars 4, 5, Figs. 3 and 4, pass through a series of switchboxes 7, on each of which is mounted a metal disc 2 insulated from one of the rods and adapted to carry a thread-guide 1. Alternatively, the switchbox 7 may be common to all the guides in a bank, as shown in Fig. 6. In a modification, each thread-guide 1, Figs. 8 and 10, is provided with a hollow switchbox 7 of nonconductive material, and the combined unit is pivotally mounted between arms 18, 24 carried by contact rods 20, 21 respectively, a drop of mercury 23, or other loose body being provided inside the box to make contact when the guide member drops. A bright or luminous body, such as a piece of red glass 25, may be provided at the end of a moving switchbox so that the attention of the operative may be drawn to the place where the rupture has occurred.
