1306332 Photographic antihalation layers KONISHIROKU PHOTO INDUSTRY CO Ltd 19 April 1971 [26 March 1970(2)] 25426/71 Heading G2C [Also in Division C1] A photographic element comprises a support e.g. cellulose triacetate carrying a layer of a colloidal manganese dioxide dispersion prepared by the reduction of KMnO 4 with a gelatin modified by reaction with a sulphonyl chloride, carboxylic acid chloride or anhydride, isocyanate or a 1, 4 diketone. The MnO 2 layer may be adjacent to the support or superimposed on a sub-layer coated on the support and a light-sensitive emulsion layer is superimposed on the colloidal MnO 2 layer.
