Abstract

130,455. Bone, W. A. July 30, 1918. Composition fuel. - Brown coals and lignites, previously dried or not, are heated to a temperature below that at which they begin to yield oils, in order to increase the calorific value of the resulting fuel. The temperature employed is above 250‹ C. and may be as high as 400‹ C. The heating may be effected by passing hot flue gases, containing not less than 10 per cent of carbon dioxide, through the brown coal or lignite.
