Abstract

1302707 Pressurized dispensing containers GILLETTE CO 6 Jan 1970 594/70 Heading F1R In a double container package for dispensing a mixture of two substances under pressure, a flexible walled inner container 22 is seated on base (20) of a rigid outer container (10) whereby a biasing force is exerted to maintain the connector structures 24, 30 in sealing relation. The valve assembly 18 comprises a chamber 62 connected to the outer and inner containers respectively by passage 60 via dip tube 56 and passage 44 via dip tube 38. The lower end 70 of stem 94 is provided with a plug 74 held in position by spring 72 and normally closes passage 44. An actuator cap 110 mounted on stem 94 is provided with three webs 120, 122, 124, the webs 120, 122 engaging the cup 16 to form a pivot axis so that when pressure is applied to the surface 126 of cap 110 the stem tilts, thus opening port 96 to chamber 62 and causing the core 70 with plug 74 to be displaced laterally to open the passage 44 to the inner container to chamber 62. The diameter and lengths of the dip tubes are selected to give a pre-selected rate of flow from each compartment. The claims of divisional Specification 1302708 are directed to this feature.
