Abstract

1302401 Toner dispensing apparatus XEROX CORP 2 Feb 1970 [6 Feb 1969 (2)] 4920/70 Heading G2H A xerographic toner dispensing apparatus includes a toner container 30, a resilient member in the form of a roller 51 or endless belt (not shown) having open cavities on its outer surface for receiving and holding toner particles. The roller is driven between a loading position within the container to a discharge station having deforming means such as protruding bosses 73, Fig. 5, to remove the toner particles held in the cavities. The roller 51 may be of foamed elastomeric material, e.g. polyurethane, polyvinyl chloride, silicones, polystyrenes, styrene acrylonitrule, or cellulose acetate. Toner in the container is periodically agitated by a striker (68), Fig.3 (not shown) on a flexible arm (66) wound about a shaft 67.
