Abstract

1443331 Diazotype development HOECHST AG 27 July 1973 [29 July 1972] 35782/73 Heading G2X Diazotype material is developed by a developer powder comprising a volatile developer substance on a solid particulate carrier, by moving the material in surface contact with a barrier layer which separates the material from the powder particles but has a plurality of small openings therein which allow the passage therethrough of volatile developer substance but not the developer powder. An apparatus for effecting the process has a rotatable drum 1 for holding the powder; the outer cover 2 of the drum has openings 4 and forms the barrier layer; the diazotype material is transported past the drum by an endless belt 8. Other apparatus, e.g. in which the barrier layer is one side of a box, may also be used.
