Abstract
1299704 Measuring fluid-flow PHILIPS GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN NV 22 Jan 1970 [24 Jan 1969 19 Nov 1969 3195/70 Heading G1R In a milk flow indicator comprising a chamber 3 fed with milk through an inlet 7 and discharged through apertures 11 and the open top of an outlet 8 which extends upwards at 12 to form a space 13 for froth which is directed by an inclined wall 14 into chamber 3 a float 15, provided with extensions 21 movable between guides 21, moves with alterations in milk level to pivot a lever 16 and rotate a shaft 17 to pivot an indicator arm 18 exterior of the housing 1. The lever 16 is bent, as shown, to direct the milk towards outlet 8. In an alternative arrangement, Fig. 5-7 (not shown), three reed contact units 27 arranged one above the other, in a plastics sheet attached to the outer side of the housing 1, are closed by a permanent magnet 25, associated with the float 15, to actuate lights 30 arranged on the outer side of the housing 1 or remotely thereof. A relay, Fig.7 (not shown), can be provided to stop the milking machine if necessary.
