[Also in Group XXIX] A float, for a steam trap, is balanced by providing communication between its interior and the vessel B in which it is mounted, by means of a tube D opening at the top of the float into the vessel and extending through the float to the bottom thereof, the tube either terminating a short distance from the inner surface of the float or else having its lower edge in contact with the inner surface and formed with slots d or other apertures.
