Oct. 12, 1918, Range-finders.-In a short-home base rangefinder or height-finder in which the mechanism employed to find the range or height comprises a defecting prism movable along one of the beams of light, a mechanism frame is provided which carries the principal parts that are moved in finding a range or height, the said mechanism frame being free from contact with the frame 11 carrying the objective and eyepiece prisms, and consisting of two or more cross-pieces 9, 10 carried from the outer tube 14 and connected by parts 3, 5, one or more of which serves as a guide for the deflecting prism 1.
