Abstract

1345157 Microscope H P W Ltd 20 May 1971 [10 June 1970] 28007/70 Heading G2J In a microscope two separate optical paths, using a common objective are contrived so that two magnifications are provided by merely moving the eye. A common objective 21 forms a ray bundle that is handed at 23 and erected at 24, the interface 26 between prisms 24, 25 being semi reflecting to give one optical path through eye piece 29, 28 and a second path via minor 31 through eye piece 33, 32. To enable identical eye pieces to be used a negative lens 30 is provided and this is adjustable for focusing purposes. In Fig.4 a semi reflecting mirror 42 splits the image the beams proceeding via erecting prisms 43, 48 respectively and handing prisms 44. Prism 43 is movable, arrow 51, for focusing.
