Abstract
1297917 Cleaning apparatus C P EQUIPMENT Ltd 21 Nov 1969 [19 Dec 1968] 60461/68 Heading A4F [Also in Division B8] Cleaning apparatus comprises separate means for supplying water and liquid detergent to a pump 6 for delivering to a set of nozzles 2 for discharge on to an article, e.g. a conveyer belt 4, to be cleaned, means e.g. a tray 13, for collecting used liquid, and a pump 18 for passing the collected liquid either to a reservoir 10 for recirculation or to a drain 28, the apparatus being arranged to direct water and detergent alternately at the article to be cleaned. A pump 6 delivers either water from a main supply 14 via a value 12 or detergent from the reservoir 10 via a valve 9. The used detergent is passed via a valve 24 to the reservoir 10, and the used water passes via a valve 26 to the drain 28. The valves 9, 12, 24, 26 are programme controlled. The pump 18 is primed by an injector 30. An alternative embodiment is described in which separate sets of nozzles are provided for the discharge of water and detergent respectively and separate circulating systems are provided for the two liquids. This alternative embodiment is also provided with a scraper blade positioned to remove solids from the conveyer belt before the liquids are discharged thereon.
