Abstract

1334889 Cleaning apparatus for plating baths NORDNEROAB 10 Dec 1971 [10 Dec 1970] 57562/71 Headings C7B and C7E A cleaning device for surface treatment plants, e.g. electro-plating plants, comprises a spray booth 5 supported on a runway 4 over a treatment bath 1. The material undergoing treatment is carried on a rack 7 which can be raised and lowered by pulley 6. A cleaning tank 2 supplies water via tube 11 to a pump 10. In operation, the rack 7 is raised from the tank 1, into the region of the nozzles 9 in the booth 5, the pump supplies water to the nozzles and the articles are cleaned, spent water falling into the tank 1 or returning to tank 2 by way of tube 16. The nozzles 9 can also be connected to a clean water supply 13. The booth then moves to the next treatment tank, having an associated cleaning tank, and the process is repeated. If desired, the articles can be carried in barrels. In an example the device is used in a plant for successively electro-plating with Zn, Cu, Ni and Cr.
