Abstract
One or more jets of liquid are sprayed on to a metal surface for cleaning, removal of scale &c. such that the jet is repeatedly cut off and restarted using a stream of liquid maintained at a substantially high velocity but repeatedly diverted from and returned to said jet to give jet pulses at a predetermined pulse repetition rate whereby surface treatment is made more effective by drainage of the liquid during the periods of interruption of the jets. Specification 965,551 is referred to.
