Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the surface of a material to be coated from sticking of microorganisms, by interposing a sterilizing device using ultraviolet irradiation into a circulating system which uses a ultrafiltrate as a rinsing liquid.
CONSTITUTION: A material 3 to be coated is coated by electrodeposition in an electrolytic bath 4 and then is rinsed through rinsing apparatus 16, 23, 30, 37 and 43 successively. A part of coating material extracted from an overflow tank 5 through a pipe 6 is sent to an ultrafiltration device 11 by means of a pump 10, and the filtrate filtered by the device 11, is stored in a storing tank 13 and then is sent, as a rinsing liquid, to risers 35 and 43 for rinsing a rinsing apparatus. In a rinsing apparatus 16, the liquid in a rinsing liquid tank 17 is extracted through a pipe 18 and is sent to a filter 20 by means of a pump 19, and then the filtrate is passed through a sterilizing device 44 by means of ultraviolet irradiation to be sprayed from a rinsing liquid riser 21 to rinse the material 3 ; the sprayed liquid after rinsing is received by a liquid tank to be circulated, and a part of the liquid is sent to the preceding rinsing liquid tank or to the overflow tank. In other rising apparatus, each rinsing liquid after rinsing is also used by circulating it through each of sterilizing devices 45W47.
