Abstract

1297753 Headphones AKG AKUSTISCHE U KINO-GERATE GmbH 19 April 1971 [26 March 1970] 25178/71 Heading H4J Each earpiece of a headphone includes a diaphragm mounted in an inner housing within an outer housing with closable vents provided in both inner and outer housing walls. In one embodiment (Figs. 1 to 3, not shown) a common closure member controlled by a multi-position lever controls both vents. In one position the vent in the outer housing is closed and the vent in the inner housing is coupled to a further vent in the outer housing via an acoustic resistance. In the embodiment shown separate closure slides 10 and 11 operated by separate controls on the housing are provided. The slide 10 is preferably mounted within the outer housing 1. Expanded plastics pads 12 and 13 may be provided of sound absorbing material.
