Abstract
729,620. Loud-speakers. HEIDRICH, S. L. May 9, 1953, No. 12976/53. Class 40 (4). [Also in Group XXXVIII] The front and back respectively of the diaphragm 8 of a moving coil loud-speaker communicate with the atmosphere through a tube 5 and through a chamber 7 and a reversed annular inwardly re-entrant horn 6. The tube 5, integral cup member 4 and casing members 1, 3 which together define the horn 6 and the chamber 7 are made of cast aluminium, sheetmetal stampings or moulded plastic. Spacers 17, Fig. 3, are inserted at intervals to locate the tubular portion 2 of the casing member 1 and the member 4, 5. Metallic wool may be inserted in the throat of the re-entrant horn.
