Abstract

1,047,585. Spectacle frame with hearing aid. DANAVOX A. S. July 23, 1963 [Sept. 20, 1962], No. 29020/63. Heading G2J. [Also in Division H4] The side piece of a spectacle frame comprises an upper wall 6 and two side walls 7, 8 which together define a cavity. The cavity is closed by a metal cover on which are mounted a microphone 19, a coil 20 for inductive coupling with a telephone receiver, components 22, a switch having "off", "microphone" and "coil" positions, a volume control 24, a battery holder 25, a tone control, and a sound emitter 27 and outlet duct 28. A portion 1 of the frame may be inverted for use as a left hand or right hand end piece. A cover carrying components may be provided on one or both sides of the spectacle frame. The side pieces may be of the plug-in type. A rear portion of the side piece may be heated and then bent for adjustment purposes. Alternatively, a hearing aid (Fig. 5 not shown) for use behind the ear, and comprising a cover 34 carrying electrical components and a housing 33, may be mounted at the rear of a spectacle side bar. In this event the side bar carries a downwardly projecting sound tube.
