1297176 Boring bars SOC GENEVOISE D'INSTRUMENTS DE PHYSIQUE 17 Nov 1970 [4 Dec 1969] 54718/70 Heading B3C A boring bar can be made up as desired from a kit of interfitting parts comprising a selection of different adapters, such as adapter 1, for securement to different machine tool spindles, a selection of different intermediary members, such as member 2, and a selection of different tool heads, such as tool head 5. Various other forms of adapters, intermediary members and tool heads are described. The tool heads include one which has a pair of radially adjustable blades, one with a single blade which is adjustable by a screw, and one with a single blade adjustable by micrometer. The joint between the parts is formed by a threaded spigot 2b entering a threaded bore 4 of the adapter or intermediary member, respectively, and abutment of shoulders on the parts where they alter their diameters.
