539,539. Boring bars. PERANNE, J. B. A. E., MOPPES, M. L. VAN., MOPPES, L. E. VAN., and MOPPES, E. M. VAN. Oct. 20, 1939, No. 28298. [Class 83 (iii)] A device for fixing and adjusting boring-tools in a boring-bar N comprises a block having a cylindrical part 1 and a part cylindrical flatted portion H along which the tool T may be adjusted by a screw B with a micrometer head C. A part 1 is slotted to receive a taper headed screw F by which, after the block has been adjusted to give the required rake to the tool, the assembly may be secured in the bar N. The block and tool are further clamped by the usual screw M which may be slackened back to allow adjustment or replacement of the tool without altering the rake adjustment.
