Abstract
793,954. Drilling-machine details. BRETT, W. S. Sept. 8, 1955 [March 18, 1955], No. 7977/55. Class 83 (3). A drilling-jig comprises a work-supporting body 1, a radial-arm 15 on the body for angularly and radially setting a drill-bush 25 about a centre on which the work 13 is held, and a circumferential guide 4 for the end of the arm 15. The drill-bush 25 is carried in a block slidable in a radial slot of the integral or builtup arm 15, which is mounted on a pivot 16 and located, after pivotal adjustment, by a spring-pressed pin (not shown), which cooperates with spaced indexing-holes in the body, or by a bolt 19, the head 18 of which engages the integral or built-up wall or walls of a continuous, preferably dovetailed, slot 17 in the flange 4 of the body. The work 13 is clamped between a flange 12 on the pivot 16 and a shoulder 8 on the body 1 or on a bush 7, by a screw 10 acting through a locking-washer 11. A bridge 27 clamps the block carrying the drill-bush, and a vernier-scale is provided on the circumference of the body 1 and the end of the arm 15. A micrometer, co-operating with the pivot 16 and a pin in the bush 25, may be used to adjust the radius of the bush.
