Abstract

1296077 Photoconductive composition EASTMAN KODAK CO 18 June 1970 [20 June 1969] 29657/70 Heading H1K A photoconductive composition comprises a pyrylium, thiapyrylium or selenapyrylium dye salt having an inorganic anion containing a Group Va element other than nitrogen whose anionic radius is at least as large as that of the hexafluorophosphate ion and an electrically insulating polymer, the dye salt and the polymer being in a two-phase heterogeneous state. The anion is preferably hexafluorophosphate, arsenate or antimonate. Many examples of suitable pyrylium salts and polymers are given. The composition may be coated together with a photoconductor on a conductive substrate to form an electrophotographic plate. Many examples of organic photoconductors and conductive substrates are specified.
