Abstract
1,198,044. Photoconductive element. KATSURAGAWA DENKI K.K. 27 Feb., 1969 [29 Feb., 1968], No. 10559/69. Heading H1K. A photoconductive element comprising a photo-sensitive layer is provided with an integral insulating layer by polymerizing a monomer adjacent the photoconductive layer by a high-frequency field. In the specific embodiment, a layer of CdS in polyvinyl acetate is formed on a polyester sheet and fixed to one electrode of an apparatus for polymerizing styrene monomer. After provision of the polystyrene layer, a conductive paint may be applied to the photoconductive layer to give an electrophotographic element. An insulating layer may also be provided betwen the photoconductive and the conductive layer.
