Abstract

A method for improving the adhesion of a photoconductive insulating layer, comprising amorphous selenium, to a conductive substrate, comprising aluminum, said method being characterized by the following phases: (a) providing said conductive substrate with an anodically formed porous aluminum oxide hermetic coating of a thickness comprised within the limits of approximately 50 Å to about one micron; and (b) uniformly depositing a photoconductive insulating layer comprising amorphous selenium on the hermetic coating.
