1294302 Terminals, carrying conductors through partitions ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO Ltd 21 Nov 1969 [29 Nov 1968] 56771/68 Heading H2E An electrical connector, sealed in a wall 18 to withstand high pressure, comprises an outer metal sleeve 10, the inner box of which is partly frusto-conical, into which is moulded an insulating sleeve 20. Moulded into the sleeve 20 is a hollow metal insert 21 with a threaded end part 19. A frusto conical copper connector 30 which fits into the insert 21, has apertures 31, 32 into which two cables 40, 41 are soldered or brazed. A ring nut 46, when tightened, compresses the insert 30 to ensure a fluid-tight fit, for which reason also, sealing rings 22, 24, 45 are provided in annular grooves 12, 13, 33. The connector is secured to the wall by a nut 23 and a packing ring 61 grips the cable 41.
