Abstract

1293926 Windscreen wipers TRICOFOLBERTH Ltd 24 April 1970 [28 April 1969] 21472/69 Heading A4F A windscreen wiper blade and arm are interconnected in side-by-side relationship by a discrete coupling pin having end portions formed with grooves 32, 34 into which engage latching elements such as a leaf-spring 18 carried by the wiper arm 10 and a coil spring 51 carried by the pivotal connection between two levers 33, 35, Fig. 5 (not shown) of a wiper blade harness; the opposite end portions of the pin being received in a transverse recess 17 and a transverse sleeve 22 in the arm and blade respectively. Push buttons 20, 64 may be operated to release the springs 18, 57 from the grooves 32, 34 so that the coupling pin may be withdrawn to detach the blade from the arm. In an alternative embodiment the transverse recess for the pin in a wiper arm is formed in a pair of identical plastics mouldings 72, Figs. 7 to 9 (not shown) and the leaf-spring latching element is released by depressing its free end.
