Abstract

1292954 Discharging molten metal by gaseous pressure WILMOT-BREEDEN Ltd 16 Jan 1970 [9 Nov 1968] 53184/68 Heading F1R A pump for transferring molten metal from a pot 35 comprises a pump chamber 2 which depends into the molten metal and having a gravity-closing inlet valve 8. The chamber 2 is supported from a plate 5, which rests on a frame 23, and through which projects a dip-tube 27 which communicates with a heated outlet tube 28. The plate 5 has an air inlet 16 cyclically connected to a supply of compressed gas. A sub-assembly 25 comprising a block 26, tubes 27 and 28, is separately removable.
