Abstract
1292940 Valves BELGONUCLEAIRE SA 19 April 1971 [19 March 1970] 24239/71 Heading F2V [Also in Division G6] In a sodium cooled fast nuclear reactor, the fertile blanket assemblies are provided with thermostatic valves for regulating the sodium flow as a function of temperature. Flow through, the fuel assembly, 1, is regulated by the relative adjustment of the collar, 14, and the aperture 17, 18 by the bellows 7, 12. The vessel, 10, comprising 7 and 12, contains an expansible mixture of sodium and potassium. An initial temperature rise causes the bellows 7 to move as far as the stop 9 and a further temperature rise causes the extension of bellows, 12, against spring 15 with adjustment of 14 relatively to the aperture 17, 18.
