Abstract
1292218 Regeneration of manganese electrolytes KNAPSACK A G 19 Feb 1970 [20 Feb 1969] 8029/70 Heading C7B In the regeneration of an aqueous electrolyte containing manganese sulphate, calcium sulphate and sulphuric acid for use in the production of manganese (IV) at elevated temperature, exhausted electrolyte is withdrawn from the cell, replenished with crude manganese (II) oxide or manganese (II) carbonate, excess sulphuric acid present is neutralized, and the regenerated electrolyte thus formed is cooled to a temperature at which the calcium solubility is lower than that of the cell electrolyte and matter precipitated is isolated therefrom prior to recycling to the electrolytic cell.
