Abstract

1291394 Projectile fuzes K DIEHL 31 Dec 1970 [16 Jan 1970] 61950/70 Heading F3A A fuze for a projectile comprises a pivoted body 1 movable under the action of a spring 23 from a safe position to an armed position in which a booster charge 3 carried by the body is aligned with a stationary detonator and a main blasting charge of the projectile, the movement being delayed by engagement of the body with a wheel 12 of a retarding mechanism, and the body itself serving as a blocking member between the detonator and bursting charge until the armed position is reached. The pivoted body is held in its safe position by a spring- biased bolt which, when the projectile is accelerated, is arranged to set back and be retained in its set-back position by a spring clip.
