Abstract
1291301 Electric couplings ITT INDUSTRIES Inc 12 March 1970 [14 March 1969] 11837/70 Heading H2E Integral tabs 23, 31 of an H-shape metallic electrical connector are die pressed into corresponding recesses 15, 16. in which electrical conductors 41, 43 may be contained, locking interference occurring between the teeth 26, 27, and 34, 35. Internal ribs cold flow under die pressure to provide intimate contact with conductor 41. Projection 24 engages recess 25 when the tab is bent over to strengthen the interface between the tab and its corresponding arm 12. The tab may be provided with a flat portion instead of teeth 26 for engaging teeth 27, cold flow of the tab portion between teeth 27 occurring under die pressure to provide said locking interference. Preferably teeth 27 are of "ratchet" cross-section (Figs. 7A, 7B, 7C, 8A, 8B, 8C, not shown) and face into the recess 15. Sealing material, not shown, may be provided in said recess.
