Abstract

1290645 Disc brakes MESSIER 19 April 1971 [12 Feb 1970 18 June 1970] 21526/71 Heading F2E In a disc brake, rotors and/or stators may be provided with graphite plates 11 each located with clearance 14 in a recess 6. The plates may be round or trapezoidal and may be fixed in place by rivets 16, allowing a clearance 17 greater than clearance 14, adhesion, welding or brazing directly or through the intermediary of metallic coatings. The disc rotors and stators may be of steel, copper, beryllium, titanium, aluminium, of their alloys, or of graphite. The plates are spaced round the disc segmentally and different types of graphite may be used for the plates and both round and trapezoidalshapes may be used in the same disc. The sides of the trapezoids may be inclined to the disc radii.
