Abstract

1425168 Brake drums BRITISH LEYLAND TRUCK & BUS DIVISION Ltd 14 Sept 1973 [16 June 1972] 28217/72 Heading F2E A brake drum has a cooling fin clamped around the outer periphery of the drum. The fin may be formed in one piece or comprise a plurality of discrete segments. Each segment has a flange 11, fitting around the drum, and annular fins 12 projecting from an arcuate fin 13, six segments may be provided, damped around the drum by a steel band or strap to form a continuous fin. The fin may be of aluminium alloy.
