Abstract

1286634 Bolt boxes for cast-in-situ concrete D J SHIRLEY 9 Sept 1969 44441/69 Heading E1S [Also in Division B8] A collapsible bolt box 10 for locating bolts in setting concrete is made of water-resistant cardboard folded or bent into a tube and provided with apertured transverse members 17, 20 through which the bolt passes. The box is preferably tapered (as shown) from end-to-end, and may be of circular or polygonal crosssection. The smaller transverse member 17 is formed integral with one of the sides of the box, which in the embodiment shown is formed from a blank (Fig. 1, not shown) having five quadilateral portions (14) separated by fold lines (13). The upper transverse member 20 in this embodiment is a separate cardboard member, and is wedged into the top of the tube. The tube is held together by adhesive tape. The box may be made of cardboard coated with polythene.
