Abstract
1284656 Zinc IMPERIAL SMELTING CORP (NSC) Ltd 19 April 1971 [23 March 1970] 13797/70 Heading C7D Zinc is produced by reducing oxidic materials containing Zn and Cd with carbon in a blast furnace, the Zn and Cd vapours produced being condensed in molten Pb; vacuum distilling Zn vapour, rich in Cd, from the Pb, then cooling the Pb to separate Zn substantially free from Cd; and recirculating the Pb. The condenser(s) may be of the lead-splash type.
