Abstract
1287831 Treating ores and concentrates VSESOJUZNY NAUCHNO ISSLEDOVATELSKY GORNOMETALL URGICHESKY INSTITUT TSVETNYKH METALLOV 28 Sept 1970 45988/70 Heading C7D Ores or concentrates containing by weight 10-70% Pb, 7-40% Zn, 0-6% Cu and at least 14% S are fed with oxygen into a chamber in which they are roasted and melted, the melt being then subjected to electrothermal reduction; dust is removed from the outlet gases containing SO 2 and recycled to the charge. Zinc, together with some lead may be sublimated in the furnace and condensed in a condenser.
