1353990 Zinc recovery J S MENENDEZ P M SAGRADO and A S ALONSO 13 Aug 1971 [13 Aug 1970 (2)] 38095/71 Heading C7D Zinc is recovered from residues, such as those containing iron obtained in galvanizing or from zinc or zinc alloy scrap by, melting, adding Cd, Hg, Al, Ga, In, Tl, or alloys thereof and agitating in a reactor with a rotary agitator such that the mixture is driven downwards in the centre of the reactor and upwards at its periphery. The resulting oxides and compounds of iron, e.g. aluminides of iron, can be removed and the remaining zinc cast into ingots.
