Abstract

128,456. Gibbes, F. Aug. 15, 1918. Control mechanism.-Relates to a dust &c. excluding cover for gear-changing mechanism of the quadrant type for motor-cycles and the like. The cover a is made up of side plates c, b, and end and top strips of metal, fibres, vulcanite, or other material. A tubular hood f on the top encloses the selector g, and in this is formed a hole in line with the hole in the selector for lubricating purposes. This hole is covered by a ring h. A lubricator j may be arranged in the cover for lubricating the quadrant. The cover is arranged over the quadrant and is secured to the operating- lever m so as to move therewith.
