Abstract

1284375 Concrete mixers H H & F G WATSON (PRIVATE) Ltd 9 June 1971 19771/71 Heading B1C A mixer has a horizontal fixed axis rotatable drum 11 with one closed end and one end with a charging and discharging port 16 served by a tilting shoot (17, Fig. 1, not shown). There are four inclined baffles spaced approximately 90‹ apart round the interior of the drum: a baffle 20 extending from end to end of the drum and in contact with its interior curved surface, and three baffles 21, 22, 23 inclined oppositely to baffle 20 and having their lower edges 26, 27, 28 spaced from the drum surface. Baffles 21, 23 extend to the closed end of the drum but do not reach the open end, while baffle 22 opposite baffle 20 is in contact with the open end but does not reach the closed end. If the shoot (17) be tilted from the charging to the discharging position in which it slopes downwardly from the port 16, the drum will be discharged by the baffle 20 while continuing to rotate in the mixing direction.
