Abstract

1,103,942. Mixing machines. JOHNSON MATTHEY & CO. Ltd. 23 July, 1965 [23 April, 1964], No. 16845/64. Heading B1C. A mixer comprises a rotatable drum 11 having blades 23, 24 rotatable therein independently of the drum. The cylindrical drum is freely mounted on a shaft 10 on which are fixed the ribbon blades 23, 24 shaped to propel the mixture towards the centre of the drum. The drum is rotated by a motor 16 in the same or opposite direction to the shaft 10 which is driven by a motor 20. Scraper blades 27, 28 fixed to shaft 15 keep the ends of the drum clean, and openings 29, 30 with lids 31, 32 allow emptying and filling; a third opening 33 closed by cover 34 permits cleaning. When mixing is completed, the drum is stopped with opening 30 at the bottom, lid 32 is removed and shaft 10 rotated to discharge the mixture through the opening.
