Abstract

1,235,028. Concrete mixers. ZYKLOS METALLBAU K.G. DIPL.-ING. KARL HAEGELE. 24 June, 1969 [25 June, 1968], No. 31737/69. Heading B1C. [Also in Division H1] A concrete mixer has a rotatable pan 3 and stirring paddles 9 rotatable about a vertical axis by a motor 5, the pan being rotated by reaction of the mix. An auxiliary motor 29 rotates the pan when there is insufficient mix to operate it as when discharging, driving through a friction clutch (27, Fig. 3 not shown) or free-wheel, and friction roller 23, so that the pan can overtake the motor 29. In modifications the motor 29 may be switched out by the free wheel device (see Fig. 4, not shown) or by a centrifugal switch (see Fig. 5 not shown) or by a relay operated by a tachometer generator 36, operation of the auxiliary motor may be made dependant on opening of the cylindrically operated central discharge door 16, the blade 13 being simultaneously lowered into the mix and cooperating with the fixed deflector 12 to discharge it. The arm 6 together with motor housing 4 is pivotable to remove the stirring paddles 9 and blade 13 from the pan as for cleaning.
