Abstract

838,153. Mixing. RAVEN, P. R. (Masa Maschinenfabrik P. Smaritschnik). Nov. 28, 1957, No. 37181/57. Class 86 A pan mixer has a mixing blade assembly driven from a planet gear running round a stationary sun wheel, the whole assembly being suspended from a frame over the pan and carrying the driving motor. A central pillar 1 depends from a frame 24 over the pan 2 and carries a stationary sun wheel 5 and, on ball bearings, carries a casing 7 enclosing a planet wheel 10 driven directly from an electric motor 8. The planet wheel shaft carries the stirring blades 14, the arms of which are resiliently mounted in a hub 11 and a rigid scraping blade 32 is fixed on the casing 7 to remove material from the wall of the pan. A slidable, discharge door is provided in the centre of the pan so that material is swept out of the pan as the stirring blades are rotated. An arcuate pipe, around the edge of the pan is used to direct water into the mix.
