Abstract

961,600. Concrete mixers. G. MAXON. Sept. 13, 1961 [Nov. 7, 1960], No. 32800/61. Heading B1C. A rotary tilting drum mixer has a drum 5 rotated in a cradle 6 by a motor 18 on the cradle, and having a rear charging opening 25 and a front discharging opening 23. The cradle 6 is suspended at 31 from a fixed framework 7 by a swinging link 13 of inverted U-shape, and its lower end is constrained by a second U-shaped link 14 pivoted to the frame at 34. When the cradle and drum are tilted by hydraulic cams 40 the initial movement is forward to clear the charging shoot 38 and water pipe 39; the discharge opening 23 of the drum follows approximately the flow path of the discharging mix, (see Fig. 6, not shown), so that the mixer can be discharged into a vessel or vehicle 15 of limited dimensions. The drum returns by gravity to the mixing position, in which the light 28 of the cradle 6 seats on the blocks 48, and brackets 50 on the cradle co-operate with stops on the frame (see Figs. 3 and 5, not shown).
