Abstract
1284299 Electrophotographic plate RANK ZEROX Ltd 18 Sept 1969 [23 Sept 1968] 46078/69 Heading HlK An electrophotographic plate comprises a photoconductive layer containing a brominated azo pigment and a binder material the pigment having the formula wherein R is Ca, Mg, Ba or mixtures thereof, R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>11</SP> are CH 3 , C 2 H 5 , OCH 3 , 0C 2 H 5 , a halogen or mixtures thereof. The binder is preferably copoly sytene-butadiene, methyl phenyl silicone resin, copoly vinyl chlorideacetate epoxy resin or polyvinyl carbazole but many other binders are specified. The plate may be formed by a self-supporting photoconductive layer or by coating the layer on a support of Al, steel, brass, metallized or tin-oxide coated glass, plastics or paper. A protective overcoating may be applied to the layer.
