Abstract

1284231 Dumper vehicles BENFORD Ltd 10 April 1970 [11 April 1969] 18608/69 Heading B7H A dumper vehicle is of the kind comprising forward and rear parts articulated about a vertical steering axis intermediate the vehicle, the forward and rear parts being supported upon pairs of wheels or tracks and controlled as to relative angular position by steering mechanism. The rear part comprises a frame 10 including a vertical limb 11 carrying a pair of pivot blocks 50 engaging lugs 49 secured to a plate 36 secured to the forward part carrying a skip 13. Pivot pins 51 engaging the blocks 50 define the steering axis 12. A horizontal limb 14 extends from limb 11, the limbs 11 and 14 being connected by a limb 15. A second frame 16 is pivotally connected to the frame 10 by bearings 20 along an axis to permit relative rocking of the front and rear parts. The frame 16 carries axle housings 53 of a pair of rear wheels 25 driven through differential gearing by a prime mover 26 which also drives front wheels 47 through differential gearing in a housing 52.
