1282688 Kettles OTTER CONTROLS Ltd and J C TAYLOR 25 Nov 1970 56145/70 Addition to 1264464 Heading A4A [Also in Divisions H1 H3 and H5] The electric kettle jug or pan of the parent Specification is modified to replace the steamoperated bi-metal actuating member by a non- bimetallic thermally sensitive member such as an expansible bellow 50 filled with ethyl alcohol or a piston movable by thermal expansion of oil in a dash-pot. Alternatively a Curie point switch is used with its contacts 38, 39, normally held together against a spring bias by the effect of a permanent magnet 68 on a block 67 of material whose Curie temperature is 80‹C. The bellows 50 operates contacts, which are biased closed, via a snap-action mechanism.
