Abstract

1379435 Thermal switches PIONEER ELECTRIC BRANDON Ltd 10 Feb 1972 [11 Feb 1971] 6338/72 Heading H1N A thermal switch has two bimetal elements 3, 4, secured together at a support 8 and slidably coupled at their other ends which are arranged to act on a microswitch 2. The bimetals are arranged in opposition so that no end movement occurs due to changes in ambient temperature. The bimetals 3, 4 have respective heaters 9, 10 for individual inductive or resistive control of the respective bimetals to move the relatively slidable ends thereof to operate the microswitch 2. Operating temperatures may be set by an adjustable screw 7 acting on the slightly resilient support 8.
