Abstract

1307481 Temperature responsive switches LANDIS & GYR AG 4 May 1971 [12 May 1970] 13015/71 Heading H1N A temperature responsive switch comprises a switching unit 1 operated by a thermal element (not shown) acting on an actuator 3 and reset by means of a push button 4, the unit 1 being mounted in a casing 7 having a reversible cover 5 which when reversed (Fig. 1 not shown) bears down upon the reset button so that the switch is automatically reset upon cooling of the thermal element. A setting knob 8 is rotatable to set the temperature at which the unit 1 is operated. Individually shaped projections on the other end of cover 5 engage with respective similarly shaped recesses in the edge of knob 8 whereby a different fixed temperature setting is selected automatically for the two modes of operation. For instance the switch may be operated either as a thermostat set for 95‹ C. or as a cut out set for 110‹ C. depending on which way round the cover 5 is fixed by screw 6.
