Abstract

1281833 Papermaking FELDMUHLE ANLAGEN UND PRODUKTIONS GmbH 15 July 1969 [15 July 1968] 35577/69 Heading D2A A papermaking machine wherein the wire 1 in the web-forming zone is inclined to the horizontal, and forms one end wall of a trough to which pulp is supplied, comprises a plurality of suctions chamber 3a-3e for withdrawing water through the wire, and, within the trough, a resiliently flexible and movable endless band 10 having a convexly curved lower run that forms between it and the surface of the wire a space that converges upwardly, means for adjustably varying the curvature of the lower run, and means for adjusting the speed of the endless belt. The whole unit carrying the endless band 10 may be adjustable relative to the wire (arrows 9 and 11), and the shape of the curve between rollers 6 and 7 may be varied by structural parts 14 (only one shown) which carry rollers 15 and are pivotable about 16. The band may be tensioned by roller 12.
