Abstract

1280805 Machinery guard JONSEREDS FABRIKERS AB 28 Oct 1960 [29 Oct 1969] 51320/70 Heading F2J A chain saw driven by an engine through a clutch 3 has a guard arm 8 pivoted at 9 to the housing 1. On obstruction of the saw causing the hand to slip forward from the handle 7 towards the chain 5 the lever 8 is pivoted forward to apply a brake shoe 11 to clutch 3, through a link 10 normally held inoperative by a spring 12 and by a projection 13 engaging a switch 14 the lever 8 breaks the ignition circuit to the engine thus stopping the saw. The arm 8 may be in two parts detachably connected at 16 so that the upper part can be pivoted forward to render the guard inoperative.
